Google Analytics offers several tools to assist marketers by tracking what users do during a session. Savvy marketers are able to narrow down where their users come from, what pages they visit and how their efforts have improved over time. These functions will become a part of your daily Analytics routine. Learn to interpret this data and you will see improvements to your display advertising campaigns.

Assign a Value to Goals

Assigning a value to the goals on your page basically puts a dollar amount on your visits. You can use a little math to figure out how much each session cost you, based on the dollar amount you received from a completed goal. You can also see what each lost lead costs you, and develop a clearer picture of where those leads leave your goal funnel.

Review Top Converting Pages

Each session involves a user visiting a certain URL. When you set goals, Analytics tracks your goal from the first step in the funnel to the place where the goal code is placed. If you don’t place this code on the first page the user visits, you will only see what happened after the user started your form. Analytics can track where users go on your website, and provide a simple list of which URLs are most active. You can retrace the steps of your goals to determine which of your landing pages are most effective.

Compare History

Analytics keeps a detailed record of all sessions that occur on the pages you have chosen to track, and this data stays with your profile. Use it to compare how your campaigns have performed in the past, and formulate theories on how to scale.

Following an announcement from Twitter CFO about the implementation of a Facebook-style newsfeed, there has been a lot of condemnation and which has the social media company to reverse its decision completely.

Experts believe that there is one place where it could use this type of newsfeed and that would be pertaining to the Discover tab that has been navigated to by mistake by many an unsuspecting user.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with Twitter – quite to the contrary, actually.

However, a number of its managers have been looking at Facebook’s user-engagement numbers and mobile ad revenue that has skyrocketed for a while now.

Sadly, if Twitter tries to emulate Facebook, the less relevant this social media giant becomes for the simple reason that noone wants Facebook Two. In fact, in making such a move, experts believe that they could be risking  short-term gain for long-term irrelevance.

Of course, they could do something interesting with algorithmic filtering and prioritization but not at the cost of our primary needs. And this is what Discover has been created for but it remains a complete mess.

But it also throws up the opportunity to do something innovative with Discover – an aspect that Facebook completely ignores these days. What a few experts believe that if Twitter did find a way to generate some interest in Discover, Twitter users will be more than happy to allow a couple of its tweets in its newsfeed.

It might also come across as quirky and of interest to users so that it becomes addictive in the long run. Unfortunately, at this time, Discover is a waste of space not until the time, Twitter can turn it into something that users want and not want them to want something that is of little or no interest.

Given the top issue with Facebook being that privacy settings are not clear, the social media giant is on a mission to conduct a multi-level privacy checkup for just about everyone who uses the site.

For this, a cute tyrannosaurus will help users to get up to speed with this process that was first tested in March but now will be rolled out for everyone.

No doubt, some users are going to be upset about it and even if they skip will have to attend to going through this process later on. Since this tool is only for those who use the Web, a large number of mobile users will not be able to enjoy the benefits that it has on offer.

The real goal of introducing this multi-level privacy checkup is for the reason that when people know what they are sharing with whom, they will be willing to share much more than usual.

And even though, a punchline says, ‘We know you come to Facebook to connect with friends and not us’, it seems rather humorous as what you share is analyzed by robot (and not your friends) so as to position targeted ads nowadays.

While the ever changing defaults and settings confuse people, this checkup will only affect the biggest settings and not the smaller ones.

There are three areas that this checkup focuses on: privacy of your apps, posts and profile visibility.

That said, even though it’s almost a decade now since a lack of privacy on Facebook has caused issues, it’s a step that is better late than never.
